The Reunification Palace

The Reunification Palace, located in District 1 Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), was built in 1955 on the site of former Norodom Palace. It was the residence and the office of the South Vietnam’s President during Vietnam War (1955-1975).

On April 30, 1975, The North Vietnamese Army (also known as The People’s Army of Vietnam) captured Saigon which was the capitol of South Vietnam. Two T-54 USSR tanks of the North Vietnamese Army bulldozed through the main gate of The Palace, ending the Vietnam War.
